We are nourishing the movement toward a more-harmonious relationship to our environment from the ground up. Our team is comprised of a diverse group of filmmakers, artists, scientists, and activists who care deeply about the Earth. We seek to change the content we celebrate and how it’s celebrated.

The films are carefully selected to represent a broad range of interpretations of an Earthly experience. We seek truth, integrity, inclusion and wisdom; to be active listeners in the ever-evolving story of the Earth.

We not only offer Earth-honoring films but work to do so in an Earth-honoring way. We do this by:

  • Hosting a festival, full of Earth-love and mind-expansion in Chico, California.
  • Facilitating film screenings around the world on Earth Day
  • Utilizing entirely Clean Energy with Zero Waste goals.
  • The films and art we share reflect our understanding that our earthly experience is diverse. The Earth Day Film Festival supports all filmmakers’ interpretations; give us your Earthly vision, however you see it. Now accepting submissions for 2019.

We are constantly assessing whether our practices align with our messages; our mission is integrity. In this way, we hope to ‘be the change we wish to see in the world’, by shifting the ways we create and consume.

The Earth Day Film Festival is a living, growing event and is itself a creative expression and offering to the planet. Our festival creates an immersive experience  to honor the multifaceted nature of our journey on Earth. The Earth Day Film Festival of years past has included both intellectually focused events such as panel-discussions, workshops, talks from industry professions, as well as heart-centered experiences like nature walks, performance art, live music and a vegan cooking demo. Films have screened in traditional and well-known theaters as well as desert, mountain, and water landscapes. We embrace our receptive capacity to our environment.

The Earth Day Film Festival will be March 1-3, 2019 in Chico, California.

We recognize that the work of creating a healthier planet will require a creative, collaborative effort. Looking to create a global movement rather than a traditional film festival, we seek to foster local engagement. On Earth Day, we provide a curation of films submitted from around the world to hosts to screen in their community. We encourage hosts to make these screenings unique and relevant to their community. Join the movement! Sign up to host a screening.
