ALLEN MYERS

FESTIVAL DIRECTOR

Allen grew up climbing trees and skinning his knees. He once cried for 2 days when his parents cut a tree down on their 3 acre piece of land. From these roots he has gone upward and outward traveling the world. Allen is the creator and curator of Nomadsight – a temporary street art installation of world photography that moves from city to city and in this manner grows its collection. From this project, he was invited to film a documentary in the Amazon called Wapapura. In looking for a film festival to share this film on Earth Day, he found that none existed. So he created one!

KEVIN PONTUTI

VR VISIONARY

Kevin Pontuti is an artist and educator based in the USA. He received his MFA from Syracuse University in 1993 then moved to California where he founded the Los Angeles-based production company Studio P Inc. His image-making expertise and collaborative spirit attracted many top artists and designers to his studio.

In 2009, Pontuti accepted a professorship at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. In 2017, he returned to California to lead University of the Pacific’s MEDIA X program. His teaching and creative practice include film, virtual reality and transmedia studies.

ANNIE MELLAN

FESTIVAL MANAGER

Annie answers to the Earth. Her actions are built on a belief that a global shift must first begin as an inner shift. She is a dancer, farmer, bodyworker, and creator who feels most at home in the forest. Annie is remembering her essential wild nature and cultivating practices to deeply listen to and advocate for Earth. She values authentic creative expression and open communication.

OLIVER MELLAN

CINEMATOGRAPHY CURATOR

Dr. Mellan is a film maker and water artist with an Earthy soul. He lives in play; engaging the world with laughter and sincerity. Oliver has been creating since his beginning, through the media of film, idea, structure, music and experiences.

KATRINA CUNNINGHAM

FILMMAKER LIAISON

Katrina a Chico native works with students at Chico State University where she also graduated from. She is deeply tied to the community, working to see that filmmakers who fly in have the right home.

NATALIE LESSA

COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER

Natalie believes in the necessity of our connection to Mother Earth, connection to each other, and connection to ourselves. She has a deep-rooted passion for educating people about sustainable, conscious living. This spiritual light coordinates international screenings with our lovely partners.

JOHN ESPEY

CONTENT CREATOR, LOGISTICS ADVISOR

John is a talented film maker and artist with his own project, Organic Electrics. As a collaborator in this festival, John has created original content and assisted with projection and consultation. John is also a board member of Pictoclik Film Festival, a partner of The Earth Day Film Festival.

DARA DONNELLY

BRAND & DIGITAL SPECIALIST

Dara is a talented branding and design specialist in Australia. She has made an incredible brand and logo for The Earth Day Film Festival. She has also created the first website.

ELI GOODSELL

ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Eli is a wild one at heart who harmonizes mostly in nature and for that his work is for environmental protection. Eli manages/nurtures a nature preserve near Chico, CA . He is also the Chief Consultant at True Stream, where they help companies work towards Zero Waste. Eli is proud to see his passion for nature and art come together with The Earth Day Film Festival.

JOSHUA KING

ARTIST-COLLABORATOR

A distinguished painter in the Bay Area and one of the original founders of an artist collective called Merchants of Reality, Joshua has many talents and great ideas and is generous with both.
