Shelter from the Shopping
Need a break from the consumerism of the holidays?
We all do….
Join us Friday December 18th at Merchants of Reality, San Francisco, for an evening of community art and film.
We will premier festival director, Allen Myers, newest film, “Worley Mountain” which follows the migrant wild tree harvesters of Northern California as they harvest Red Fir. The short film is a poetic piece that weaves in greater themes of life and death.
We will also screen, “What Would Jesus Buy” An examination of the commercialization of Christmas in America while following Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Gospel Choir on a cross-country mission to save Christmas from the Shopocalypse (the end of humankind from consumerism, over-consumption and the fires of eternal debt.)
On hand will be art and craft by local artists:
Joshua Nissen King
Maker and Mineral
Steer and Arbor
Massage and products will be available from the Merchant’s Healing Arts Studio.
